math expressions
made easy

We currently have two tools with public releases.

SymbOffice
This add-on, the first we developed, is a VBA macro for local installations of Microsoft Office. It greatly enhances Office's existing autocorrect table in order to easily access a font's many common (but relatively hidden) math symbols. After installation, one inserts the math symbol simply by typing the corresponding TEX name. In other words, \pi will autocorrect to π, \div will autocorrect to ÷, and so on. This greatly speeds up typing processes for those who need to write these symbols on a regular basis in Office.

Because of Office's integration, running this macro once (in Word) grants functionality to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. It is made available under MIT License.

Requests for additional symbols can be made here. Users can also add entries to their own personal autocorrect by following the instructions found here

TEX Math Here
This browser add-on is our flagship product, available for Chrome and Firefox, with Edge support forthcoming. This tool converts TEX code into images of mathematical expressions for use in any web platform supporting image pasting (GSuite, Microsoft Office Online, Blackboard, etc.). Math expressions have customizable options for size and font selection, with color selection also available in version 0.7. The generated images are screen reader compatible, provided the platform of interest supports such.

TEX Math Here for Chrome, version 0.7

TEX Math Here for Firefox, version 0.6
Recent changes by Mozilla to permission handling have delayed the release of version 0.7, though Summer 2020 release is still the goal. Core functionality is the same in version 0.6, but with fewer font choices and no color support.
